Hello, when I first tested with geno 2.0 next gen, I got as mtdna hg U5a1a1 and once the results transferred to ftdna it was the same. Now ftdna has changed it to U5a1a1-T152c! and didn't find on the internet any conclusive answer. What does that mean?

T152c is a mutation (mutation in HVR2 area? HVR2 is a "high resolution" region), T152c! is a back mutation to an ancestral state, back mutation is indicated with an exclamation mark (!).

I think these genbank examples are one from Russia, the other one from Poland.
Mutations: T152C!

A back mutation or reversion is a point mutation that restores the original sequence and hence the original phenotype

I am very confused. My dad has listed as a match with a person listed as U5a1a1-T152C! His mtDNA group is H11a. How would he match with a U?

Mothers pass on mtDNA group to their children and only daughters pass it on from there. If there is a X match, it could be a piece of an X chromosome that came from someone else besides the direct mother line. For example, a shared X that passed from a father to a daughter that wouldn't pass the mtDNA group with it.

Is this an mtDNA match or autosomal match?

It was an mtDNA match. Every other match was a form of H. I sorted the matches by Haplogroup, and found the very last match was the U. The only thing I can figure out is that dad's has a mutation that matches the U, such as the T152C! although, his full test does not show that back mutation

Did he test the full mtDNA sequence at FTDNA and is the H11a person in his FTDNA mtDNA match list?

Yes, Full mtDNA at ftDNA, he is the H11a person, the U5a1a1-T152C! was the last name in his match list, (page 36) all other matches were H of some sort.

The person is not in his FF list, or in his Y or Y full

It must be a bug. FMS matches should only include people from the same subclade, so neither U5 not H2 should be included in the match list. Just to confirm again - he tested the full sequence, not Geno 2.0?

Yes, I've tested dad with ftDNA (notGeno2.0) to:

mt full with coding regions
Big Y

Dad's mtDNA results are H11a

Then it is probably a bug in the FTDNA matching. This is fairly common, abd you can contact FTDNA to report the error and ask them to correct it.
