The article purports to but unfortunately provides no evidence that Z93 is connected to Indo-Aryans. If all Z93 is indeed Indo-Aryan, then which haplogroup would be connected to the Shak who historians say left a very strong imprint over the Indo-Aryans.

Re: "R1a lineages form only about 17.5 % of Indian male lineage, and an even smaller percentage of the female lineage."
I think here he means "and an even smaller percentage of the female lineage [is IE related]."

The Shak are equated with the Sek, Saka, Sej or Sai.

The Shak sambat (era https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaka_era) is one of the three main eras used in India (Shak sambat, Bikrami sambat, and the Christian era). In the Mughal period one often comes across the Fasli era too.

This is a good example of a casual forum post.

Although how it passed to be an article in a national news papers, that too from a person with no credentials in the stated subject, beats me.

Need to follow the money.
