H24, more specifically H24a1. Anyone have information on this haplogroup? Almost everywhere I've seen it mentioned they say "its a rare haplogroup we know little about." I know parts of Sweden its very common, but I've read that its origins are more in Central Europe and the sample size just isn't there to pin point.

My father-in-law was H24a. His maternal line went back to Pennsylvania Germans, but the earliest known maternal maiden name was Potter, b. 1852.

Interesting! My furthest maternal line goes back to Pennsylvania b. 1791. No known surname but she married an Scot Irish man, Fraser or Frazier.

I'm H24. My maternal line goes back through pre-Revolutionary South Carolina to Switzerland or Germany.
