Haplogroup W8

I would like to get more information about my Mitochondrial Haplogroup that is the W8.
I couldn't get any info on the country (or region) of origin.

Haplogroup W8 is very rare. This site (http://www.thecid.com/) about haplogroup W is the best one. W8 is however rare, so not much about it, unfortunately. The genbank (http://www.ianlogan.co.uk/sequences_by_group/w7-9_genbank_sequences.htm) lists Yemen, Bedouin, Iran and Brazil, which I guess may be you based on the date added.

Dear Pylsteen, The W8 of Brazil is myself. Thank you very much for your information. My oldest ancestor was from Mértola, Portugal.
