View Full Version : Genesis One-to-Many results usually don't match one-to-one

Has anyone else noticed this? More often than not, when you do a one-to-one of someone who comes up in the one-to-many list, the results are *completely* different. Here's one example:

19.0138 73.8163 3.8 106237 in the one-to-many screen.

Here's the same comparison done one-to-one:

Largest segment = 15.2 cM
Total Half-Match segments (HIR) = 22.4 cM (0.6 Pct)
Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 4.7
106259 SNPs used for this comparison.
56.3 Pct SNPs are full identical

Are you all getting the same thing happening? Is there a quicker way to filter these out than doing a one-to-one compare on each result one by one?

Yes I and others have raised it in other threads. It doesn't work. I would not recommend using Genesis for matching.

Do we know if the one-to-one is accurate? I'm assuming the inaccuracy lies in the one-to-many list. Interestingly, *some* one-to-many results give the same results when looked at in one-to-one.
