Paragroups are fun to look at as they are akin to cousins to major subclades and indicate potential areas of higher diversity.

There is a deep division of U106 between Z18 and Z381. Below are the earliest branching paragroup guys I can find in Z18, the Z18* guys.

For all practical purposes, L325+ should be included as Z18+ Z14-:

Scotland seems to have a knack for showing up, but I think the most unusual catch here is Vignault in Haute-Vienne. That's a ways away from the conventional wisdom home of Germanic peoples. There are not a lot of U106 people there as far as we know.

You can add 80890, Silvers, to the Z18+, Z14- list as well. He tested positive for Z18 in WTY.

Do we know his status on L325 and L653? Doe he get the "double" asterisk?

Silvers was the one that L653 was found in, his L325 result was ancestral.

L653 and L325 were included in Geno2 so I'm guessing they're pretty much private.

Were any of the Z18 Geno2 people Z18*. I looked at Raymond W's Geno2 comparison spreadsheet but don't see any Z18* people in it.

Yes, it looks like the Z18+ folks are all Z14+ too so no Z18*.

I like that Peter shows each haplotype as a row and SNP results as columns. We do need to get a standard format for these comparisons across haplogroups.
