Wedge Island is a very popular holiday place, and as it was long weekend (holiday) this couple (a marketer) just happen to find it.

If it is a hoax, whoever cooked it up was familiar with German spelling from the 19th century, for example, use of the archaic Heimath in place of the modern German Heimat (home, place of origin).
