According to jameslick.com, my mtDNA is U8b1a2b.
WeGene says U8b1a2

Anyone have information about my Haplogroup?

I found this site that has some public matches, it listed Greece, Ashkenazi, Poland, and ancient Armenian.

Between U8b1a2 and U8b1a2b, it seems to found around east of the Mediterranean and Algeria. Could it have spread by the Phoenicians? Or possibly Romans or ancient Philistines?

My wife is U8b (old test, so she could have mutations downstream from U8b), she is Turkish..

It's been a while since I ran it (gave her only U8b before), but funny enough, she comes out as U8b1a2b ;) She has ancestry from SW and central Turkey.. I suspect she has some Armenian and Greek/Italian roots, as well as some Sephardic roots further back..

I decided to test full mtDNA full sequence with FTDNA and confirmed U8b1a2b

Got a match from Greece on FTDNA.
I uploaded to yfull and got a match from Greece, Poland, and Armenia

I think the origin is Levantine.
