Hello Anthrogenica!

I recently took an Ancestry DNA test, and uploaded my raw data into the Morley Subclade Predictor, and my results came out as R-CTS9044. Does anyone here know anything about this subclade, where it originated, how old it is, etc.? What should I do in order to refine my Y-DNA testing?

Thank you

Hi,

Assuming the predictor is correct, FTDNA has two relevant tests. BigY and L2 SNP pack.

Yseq.net also has a U152 panel test.

Isn't there also a Z367 SNP pack at FTDNA? Or would be better to do the L2 pack? The Big Y is a bit expensive for me (for now).

If you know for a fact that you are Z367+ then yes the Z367 SNP pack is the way to go. If you don't then it just depends on how much you want to gamble on the predictor being correct.

After ordering 12 markers, I think I may just purchase the Z367 SNP for $39 and get the SNP pack thereafter. Otherwise, I may just either go for the L2 pack or the R1b-Backbone pack.

Just got my results back, and I indeed tested positive for Z367. I have joined the R-U152 project. What should my next step be? Any information about Z367 or its distribution?

Some good (but slightly speculative) reading here:

Just tested positive for Z33 at YSEQ.
