Question for Anyone who understands 23andMe and GedMatch

Hi Guys Im really new to this and I ran my 23andMe results on a calculator on Gedmatch specifically the Eurogenes EUtest V2 K15 with Oracle and this is what I got (bare in mind as far as I'm aware I'm Irish)

Would the above results indicate Im fully Irish??? there are some rumors to a great great grandparent being foreign, but this could just be a old wives tale. The population mix above shows a lot of caucuses regions.

Welcome to the forum. Your results are consistent with being fully Irish -- the small difference could just be the result of you being slightly to the east of an average Irish person. Of course, you cannot completely discount some other ancestry, but I would not say you have evidence of that in your results.

You're most welcome -- very hard to say, this could go back any age. Essentially at 2-3% you are within normal population range, so this could mean a few Norse ancestors down the line, or nothing, or a remote ancestor from a fair way east.

Because of the way DNA is inherited if you tested your parents they might both show up as essentially 100% Irish, and you just happened to inherit the eastmost of their DNA.

Im thinking of having my mum and dad tested to see if anything else shows up. All Ive got really from 23andMe is that my Maternal DNA line is U5b1b2 and my paternal line is the very common R1B1B2A1A2F* in Ireland, not so sure about the maternal line as I cant find much info on the group U5b1b2

Those are both very consistent with Irish ancestry as you say. What 23andme calls R1b1b2a1a2f is better called R-L21 now. There's a fair bit of variety beyond it now whereas there wasn't 4-5 years ago, but it seems strongly linked to Celtic populations. U5b seems largely associated with the hunter-gatherers of Western Europe.

I just registered tonight. I have my raw dna from Ancestry DNA with results of 86% Irish with a range of 72% - 99%, and 14% Great Britain with a range of 0% - 28%. From there I used GEDMatch and I also used my Ancestry raw DNA data with My Heritage and the results were 97.2% Irish and 2.8% East Europe. So naturally I'm thinking that I'm mostly Irish.

However, I did a GEDMatch which has me totally confused with the results:

Your results are noisier than the O.P. when using this calculator. The number at the end. Smaller is better.
One difference I see is the testing company. The genotype rate of a calculator varies by company and chip. Could be you were not tested for some of the more distinctively irish alleles that this calculator uses.
Try other calculators.
Otherwise you are less Irish than the O.P.

What am I, Irish or Orcadian ?

My guess is, given the context, that you're most likely Irish, maybe with a little of something else mixed in. I suspect the reason Eurogenes matchs you with the Orcadians is your unusually high North Sea percentage. I have the same, and Eurogenes also pegs me as Orcadian, when in fact I'm mainly English with a little German and Scandinavian mixed in, which shifts my score towards the most heavily North Sea admixed part of the British Isles: the Orkneys. You may well be the same, but with Irish as your main ethnicity instead.
