Hi everybody,

I am new of this genetics research and sorry if I make mistake.
My paternal family live in France nord about 380 years (Cambrai)
My mother family live in Italy center about 150 years (Pescara)
I make the test Geno 2.0 NG Helix in July 2018 with the result I-Z138 paternal
and my mother side J1C4.
I transfert my results to myFTDNA (Helix) now I am S6275 confirmed father side
and mother side J1C2.
I know that I-Z138 > S2293 > S6277 > S6275 but what is the sense.
Neanderthal 1%

Geno 2.0 NG Helix inform that I am
scandinavian 43%
southern europe 24%
asia minor 22%
great britain and Ireland 9%
northern africa 3%
Can people help me to understand the signification of scandinavian - ok I am 1.82 - blond hairs - green eyes - clear skin
ok Cambrai was destroy by the vikings but 43% scandinavian (norwegian more as danish).

Thanks for the help

Claude

Hi again,

today I update my results Geno 2.0 NG Helix with FTDNA Family finder now this the results is:

Paternal: S6275
Mothernal: J1C2

European 78% (West and central europe 51% + Iberia 24% + Southeast europe 3%)
Middleastern 13% (Asia Minor 13%)
Jewish Diaspora 9% (Sephardic %) ????????
British Isles < 1%

More realistic.

I didn't think Helix results would work for FTDNA, are your results really Helix or do they still use the older (better) Geno 2.0 FTDNA chip for customers on the continent?

Hi Dewsloth,

In realty I was wrong this is Geno 2.0 NG not Helix, I make the mistake. I transfert my results by my Dashboard Geno 2.0 NG to FTDNA.
Yesterday I buy Family finder to myFTDNA to have my complete raw data, FTDNA say me wait 24h, but at today the results and raw data
are pending ?

@claudefrancis , don't trust too much autosomal results from commercial companies, especially if your are 'mixed'. The best way to know your ancestry is genealogy. But your FTDNA is consistent for somebody who is half North French half Italian Abruzzo
I advise you to transfer your data into Gedmatch and to use dedicated calculators.

Thanks Camulogène Rix,

In fact now I am waiting the raw data of FTDNA to download and after I will go Gedmatch. But at the moment the
transfer file (no raw data) of Geno2.0 NG to FTDNA are more near my analyse:

Europeo 78% (Europa occidentale e centrale 51% + Iberia 24% + Sud-est Europa 3%)
Middleastern 13 % (Asia Minor 13%)
Ebraica Diaspora 9% (Sephardic%) ????????
Isole britanniche <1%

I have some surprise or mistake software about Ebraica Diaspora 9%
I know Middleastern 13 % (Asia Minor 13%) - go to Greece and south Italy
Iberia 24% - nord of France was under influence Spain - German
Honestly no surprise

You are not the only one having Italian ancestry and getting this kind of percentage. Recently a other person posted her results and it was the same case:
https://anthrogenica.com/showthread.php?14951-Italian-mistaken-with-Sephardic-Jewish&p=454778#post454778

We had some exchanges on the French forum and she is not Jewish at all.

The percentage of Asia Minor is not necessarily to be understood as a recent Middle Eastern origin, because even some Western Europeans without "Italian" or "Spanish" origin sometimes obtain a small percentage of Asia Minor (between 1-5 %).

FTDNA often gives odd results

Hi Vrump,

thanks for the analize, about MiddleEastern 13% I think this people maybe go to Greece, Sicily or South Italy. This % is middle high (13%).
About my 78% Europe in particular 51% Central and West part of this people are from Poland, Germany and Scandinavia (Danish and Norwegian)
and little part of UK. This confirm the Geno 2.0 NG in part. I receive from FTDNA contact of 2/3/4 cousins of this country's and some from France and Italy.
Very realistic possibility.
