View Full Version : How deep does Living DNA go?

Living DNA gave me Haplogroup J2 with a subclade of L-25.

There are many branches from it, will another test give me a specific branch? Or Could this be my "final" subclade?

My subclade is very widespread, from Scotland to India, so is it worth it?

Mine gave me a subclade from several thousand years ago. It was better than my simple I1 on 23andme but ultimately not very informative. Your Y seems very interesting for a Brit and it would probably be worth testing further.

EDIT: From a quick look on YFull I think your result is even more distant. I would consider Yseq or Big Y among other possibilities.

Thanks, I've been looking into Yseq today actually. I hope it does the job. I can't justify the price tag on bigy

And yes my case is unusual because my fatherline goes to Shetland where J2 is literally nonexistent
