Via Google I see a second member of this new DF27 subclade: FTDNA #139555. A family with reported roots near Chester in northwest England, far from my earliest known paternal-line ancestor in London, which has always hoovered up immigrants from all over.

Does anyone else still find McGee's old analysis program useful (http://www.mymcgee.com/tools/yutility.html)? It shows us with a 67 STR GD of 24 and an estimated time to most-recent common ancestor of 2,520 years.

I could find no evidence that the owner of kit #139555 has joined either the DF27 or the P312 haplogroup project. But from the kit number I can deduce that the test was ordered in the third week of November, 2008. That's 10 years in the fridge, not a great prospect for NextGen (BigY) sequencing, without a more fresh sample. Good luck, anyhow.

Thanks; he does belong to a paternal DNA project for a family called Mycock -- causing me to struggle against expressing some juvenile witticism.

Here's the most recent block tree for this little twig on the Z295 branch.

A first split in the thus-far two-member R-SK1907 group: R-BY172517 in the Meacock family.
