In 2018(paper linked below) we learnt that in Italy "Balkan" EV13 and J2B2-L283 is highest in Apulia and the Po Valley, with J2B2-L283 peaking in the Piedmont region. With Apulia, these "Balkan" haplogroups can be explained by the Illyrian-Messapic relations (linguists like Matzinger have found connections between Messapic and Albanian). In antiquity south slavs were as of yet not in the balkans so these ancient "balkan" migrations are most probably Illyrians, as there is no historical record of Thracians or Dacians crossing the Adriatic.
So the Apulia connection is not so suprising, yet the Po Valley peaking in Piedmont with these "balkan" haplogroups has not sufficiently been explained or investigated. What is the archeological and linguistic side of this phenomenon? Are there "Balkan(Albanian)" linguistic features in Po Valley dialects that have as of yet not been investigated because nobody thought to look for them there? Alba Pompeia in Piedmont has any connection or just a coincidence?
What were these intrusive J2b2-L283 "Balkanites" in the Po Valley called? Is there any historical record that fits this migration?
