Hello, I just registered for this Forum. I'm I-M223 L1229 from Brisbane, Australia with paternal ancestor from Lurgan, Armagh, Ireland (Robert Roberts born 1891 died 1848).

welcome, Wayne!
in the old forums there had been a very animated thread for M223, until Ken went away. Who knows, there are several members rejoining here, who had been long away. The Yahoo group is big, but not very attractive.

I think there is a tree for M223+ sector of the tree just updated today at Nordtvedt's public website.
Unless you have an 8 at DYS438 you are probably negative for L812. Little is known about who is L1230- but I think most all have tested negative.
You are in the Roots clade of M223+ by virtue of your L1229+ Roots is rather oldish and has a decent Iberian/French representation as well as the usual NW Europe/British dominance.
Scandinavia is on the slim side.

Much of C 2a got eaten up by a bunch of new clades. But I think the rest of C 2a would sit on that branch line just above P95

If more diverse testing would be done, I think more of C2a would get eaten up by new clades. Testing seems to run in lemming like concentrations.

I was on the old DNA Forums and currently on the Yahoogroups list. There is also a small I-M223 Facebook group which I am on. Wayne
