My wife's results came back as I4, her grandmother is Swedish, and her results from her aDNA confirms she is mainly Scandinavian.

Hi Mehrdad,

MY mtDNA came back as I4a and I have somewhere between 8% and 14% Scandinavian DNA.

My dads mtDNA is I4a. Haplogroup I4 is old and fairly rare, seems to be most common in Scandinavia.

My husband is I4a1 (based on BAM analysis of his Big Y; just I4a based on 23andMe SNPs).

I4a sequences in GenBank have geographic origins of Siberia, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and Russia.

My husband's ancestry goes back to Abigail Darby, b 1759 in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
