TOWN OF BRADFORD - A teen whose body was found in rural Rock County over two decades ago "has been tentatively identified," according to the DNA Doe Project, an organization that uses genetic genealogy to identify remains across the country in coordination with law enforcement.

The DNA Doe Project worked in conjunction with GEDmatch, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), Fulgent Genetics for the lab work, Full Genomes Corporation, Inc., and bioinformatics expert Greg Magoon of Aerodyne Research, Inc. in making the preliminary identification.

"At the request of the local law enforcement, in 2018 the DNA Doe Project took on case in collaboration with Aerodyne and Full Genomes Corporation and attempted to identify the body by using autosomal DNA and genetic genealogy to trace relatives.[7][8][9] On February 21, 2019, the DNA Doe Project announced they had identified John Clinton Doe. The name has not been released pending announcement by the Rock County Sheriff's office."
