Anyone know about this? Some maps would be nice too.

Carballa et al. suggests that HV4 originated in Eastern Europe. That is a possibility. However, as nearly always, sampling bias may be an issue.
Copying a post from the Assyrian mtDNA thread:
Another post. The standard caveat regarding the possible limits in our current world dataset apply.
HV4 in Assyrians (at least 4 out of 82 samples)
1. HV4a2a (FTDNA FGS) <-- Humanist
2. HV4a2a (SMGF) (Based on HVR1 and HVR2)
3. HV4 (23andMe) (no further resolution available)
4. HV4b (23andMe - James Lick)

I have heavily criticized this paper from when it was published. Of course my writings are all in my "Rathna's assessment of genetic materials" (put by me or by others). Lastly I am examining two other HV4a1a4 from Italy on 23andMe.
