View Full Version : Is sequencing non-humans different to humans?

I mean that on a practical level. Whether insects, plants (!), mice or mammoths, is the actual means of sequencing any different? IOW, do researchers use the same machines, chips. reagents, etc., to come up with what looks like clearly non-human results? Or are there significant differences of technique, equipment, cost, etc.? I'm curious is all, but would love to learn "how it's done". Thanks
