Does anybody know where these samples are exactly from?

Is there any other dataset that I can reach for British Isles? (Irish, Scotthish, Welsh and etc.)

Quick answer, sure that some others will provide more.

english:14 ind,Hellenthal et al 2014
irish:7 ind,Hellenthal et al 2014
scottish:12 ind,Hellenthal et al 2014
welsh:8 ind,Hellenthal et al 2014
orcadian:15 ind, HGDP

Hellenthal: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4209567/

These samples were used in several studies and are for example part of the large multi-continental sample collected by Busby for https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4714572/ . This sample is still available (as a PLINK file):https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/ckz9mtgrjj/1 .

edit: 523443 SNPs, far less than 1000g, of course. I hope you don't intend to use it for an imputation job...

Thanks a lot, this dataset will be useful.

No, I'll use them for an ADMIXTURE calculator we've been working on. The SNP levels should be enough.

Btw, samples from Kent will be also appreciated. :)

May I ask what sort of admix calculator you are attempting? World with Modern populations? Or something more Eurocentric?

World with modern populations. Ancient calc. will be seperate.

According to Schiffels' study (2016, "Iron Age and Anglo-Saxon genomes from East England reveal British migration history"), the British sample inside 1000genomes comes from Kent, Cornwall and Orkney. There is very likely somewhere a table with the location of each individual. I'll search.

Breaking news karachi (https://9newshd.tv/category/pakistan/karachi-news/) has revealed more genomes in human DNA than the conventional research. You better read that article.
