According to 23andme, my paternal lineage is R-S3933 but LivingDNA puts it as R-Z346.
If no non-paternal event has taken place, my earliest known paternal ancestor should be a fella from Somerset, England in the 1600s. I take it that he was probably of Saxon origin then, as R-U106 is often associated with Germanic migrations and that Somerset would have been part of Wessex, back in the olden days.

Has anybody got any additional information on this subclade?

R-S3933 (also known as CTS5601) is a subclade of R-Z346.

The best place to learn about the subclades of R-U106 is on their YahooGroup forum. You can subscribe to this forum by sending an email to: [email protected] and basically say the same thing you stated here.
