I guess such a browser is a good thing. However what do you do when you have 149 matches with someone , with quite a lot having the triangulation symbol? I got a triangulation of 7 people with a 15.3 cM segment size 5,120 snps. However it's possible, if all that had the triangulation symbol could be compared together that it might be a pile up situation .

Whose chromosome browser are you talking about and what parameters are you using, such as minimum segment size?

As I'm posting in the My heritage subforum , theirs .Show triangulated segments
that are at least: 6cMs

When I have huge numbers of matches on one segment like that, I tend to assume pile-up zone.

7 triangulating is huge or 149 matches is huge?

Thanks, lot of times I see a subject and don't think to check the subforum. Anyhow, I have not tried My Heritage yet, but it seems to be the same general problem everywhere.

Sometimes, pile up zone is useful, especially for verifying heritage of culturally and geographically isolated populations. I undestand this marks normally a far ancestor, so it's interesant for ancestry of 400-500 years or more. For recent ancestors maybe isn't useful.

149 matches on one somewhat small segment. Maybe I was misunderstanding what you were saying.

^ It might be due to my not making things clear . What I have noticed is the large number of matches that I share with with my Dna matches . This makes me think My heritage are not good at filtering out matches that may be due to a pile up.
