Hablogroup Q-Z780 / Q-FGC47595

Hi, I came across this site when searching for sub group Q-FGC47595. My father was adopted and never knew his parents; so we did a DNA test to see if we could find out any information. The first tests resulted in Haplogroup Q-Z780; delving deeper and paying for more testing, we found that he is Q-FGC47595.

Do you happen to know what this means? I understand that he is of Native American origin according to the test, but what does Q-FGC47595 signify? Is this an area or surname?

I am sorry if I sound uninformed, I really am. I am just trying to learn more about my fathers background. I appreciate any help you could provide.

The Q is your haplogroup and what follows is your subclade, which is the same as found in an ancient NA grave https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzick-1. For more samples that have the same subclade you can check https://www.yfull.com/tree/Q-FGC47595/ , if you have tested with ftdna (bigy), you can also upload your own samples.

Also, if you tested with ftdna, i would advise you to join the haplogroup q and various NA projects.

Testing with Big Y and then sending raw data to YFull is strongly recommended, maybe new branch with Anzick will be formed? Who knows :)
