Hi everyone! So we have tested our Azerbaijani turks ( www.familytreedna.com/groups/azerbaijani-turks-turkic/ ) project members from Calilabad city (bordering with talysh region) and results came out as O2a2. So he definitely had a medieval nomadic ancestor. Actually ftdna have not posted the haplogroup yet, we just checked the markers using nevgen and so on. Suprisingly he has no matches even at 12 marker level. I`m posting his markers here for interpretation or any comment :)

Ftdna order :
14 24 14 11 13-20 11 10 13 12 15 26 19 8-9 11 11 23 15 20 34 13-13-14-15 9 11 19-20 15 15 19 17 33-37 11 11

Kit number 917583

02a2 means O-M122? Any Big Y testing planned, including other Azeri Os?

Should be O-M175, though we are still waiting for haplogroup confirmation by FTDNA. Unfortunately they have no intention to get Big Y.

Ftdna did a backbone test only for K-M9 and he is of course positive. >:( So is it O-M175 or not how do we know? Unfortunately no resources for SNP or Big Y test for know.

His Y-STRs haplotype seems to be O-M117+(although not very typical type), which was found among 4 samples of ancient Mongolian warriors (Jeong C, et al,. 2020) and 1 sample of Egyin gol Xiongnu(estimated by Y-STRs,Keyser-Tracqui C, et al., 2003).
