Hi all, I just got the resalts of a friend of mine from Viano (Massa-Carrara), his MT Haplogroup is D2* , Besides he traced his maternal line until the beginning of 1700s in Vinca (Massa-Carrara). It's a real mystery how this woman got there! This Haplogruop was found among the Uiguri from China. But the TMRCA is 6300 ybp.

Rich households in Renaissance Tuscany and Northern Italy often employed non-Christian servant girls from the Crimea where the local Tartars/Tatars have an individually variable but often strong East Eurasian element.

I know about the servant girls from M.O. But it's possible that this MT line is the result of an ancient migration, don't forget the TMRCA of 6200 YBP. Let's wait to get more evidences and clues.

D2 was also found in low frequencies among Han Chinese including downstreams like D2b and D2b1
