I decided to make a thread about my results hoping for input. I'm willing to post Gedmatch Calculator results as well. I've seen posts by members more knowledgeable than myself pointing out that certain mixes are indicative of origins other than what's listed. I'm having trouble figuring out why on some calculators I come back almost entirely British, while in others I come out almost entirely French, French Basque or "CEU". Any input is appreciated.

I've read that the CEU in calculators represents European descended Americans in Utah. Given my maternal family's Mormon faith and the very loose usefulness of basing a genetic population on a mixed recent population, this link is less suspect. My MDLP World results have me thinking. My highest single population's are Austria @2.16 and Slovenia @2.19. When I tested my Y-DNA through FamilytreeDNA, I came back R1b-L2, and my closest matches were an Austrian and a Slovenian with similar surnames (Small and Smolej respectively)

I'll post the results:

Admix Results (sorted):

Met a cousin through 23andME, after some discussion we figured out he is my maternal grandmothers first cousin. First relative I've confirmed with the help of DNA.

Today I received results from Doug MacDonald, and he places my ancestry entirely in England. My Quantitative Results says "Everything says this is just plain English."

I'll post the graphics of my MacDonald results here and in the appropriate thread later today.

With Central European admixture and U152+ L2+ Y-DNA you certainly would be welcome in Alpine DNA Project @ FTDNA (http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Alpine_DNA_Project_AlpGen_Genealogy/).
I did some admixture comparisons of samples of "pure" Alpine descent and can mail them if you are interested.
Sincerly
