Nothing new here, it would be a good article only if they tested Y-DNA NGS because we need to know the SNPs structure and we need results from other unknow Northern Middle Eastern populations. 1500 years ago nobody would know what was an Iraqi Arab, so that's another problem.

Is there a fast way to calculate this or did you just do it manually?

I imported it into Microsoft Excel, filtered out non-Iraqis. Created a column to "zoom" out to the root, H-M69, H-M82 => H for example.

Than I made a pivot table to display the final results with the new column.

Mashallah, Iraqi people contains whole line of basic Y-haplogroups, except M and S :)

This is the strong evidence of Iraq as a crossroad of the world. More than ~60% is Middle Eastern lines, ~20% Southern Asia, ~10% Central Asia, ~10% other regions (Africa, Europe)

I am still waiting for Sumerian Y-DNA, key to the past of Iraq.

I suspect some of the H and R men could be descendants of South Asian pilgrims. Some have the surname Al-Hindi/Al-Hindawi.

Southern Iraq has some Iraqis of African descent.

A true melting pot.

Yes, they seems to be migrants from Southern Asia
