The only other haplogroup that exhibits frequencies in double digits in two of the three Basque provinces examined is E-V65 (Alava, 17.3% and Vizcaya, 10.9%). E-V65 is of Northern African origin and could have dispersed into Iberia across the Mediterranean at various times since its origin approximately 4300 years ago.

Yeah, very interesting, would be nice to have further informations about the subclades, if they were there from Early Neolithic.

Unfortunately, the samples were not tested WGS

This is huge, thanks for sharing.

As the Italian individual in paragroup V65* on the YFull tree, I would really like these samples to be analysed in depth and the raw data uploaded on there. All the older sub-clades of E-V65 are found outside of North Africa, most often in Europe. I suspect that the history and dispersion of E-V65 in Europe are key to understanding this lineage's origins and proto-ethnic affiliations.

Probably some subclades deeper into Sahara that are found today are as result from Kiffians: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiffian_culture

E-V65 is not present in the southern regions of the Sahara AFAIK. You are probably referring to the sister clade E-Y161041 reported in Cameroon.

My mistake. I probably confused subclades.

If they are really old in the region with that proportion (Alava, 17.3% and Vizcaya, 10.9%) they should have a kind of starlike expansion with a proper TMRCA since the arrival there.
