According to Yfull, modern day samples associated with N9b were all found in either Japan or Siberia. https://www.yfull.com/mtree/N9b/
Ancient N9b samples were mostly found in ancient Joman samples including one sample found in Siberia. (I15926 - Nevelsk 2 whom belonged to the Russia - Sakhalin HG culture)
https://haplotree.info/maps/ancient_dna/samples.php?searchcolumn=mtDNA_haplogroup&searchfor=N9B&ybp=500000,0&orderby=MeanYBP&ascdesc=DESC

However, 2 Han Chinese samples from Hebei were identified as N9b and N9b4 in the supplmentary information of article ”River Valleys Shaped the Maternal Genetic Landscape of Han Chinese“

Do you think this might be related with survival of low Jomon ancestry in mainland East Asia as I think Wang et al (2021) argued for? G25 often shows some low Jomon-like ancestry in Han_Shandong samples.

I believe it happens because once there was a larger Jomon-like continuum in Asia and maybe because both East Asians and Jomon people derive partially from the same archaic cluster, it is known that Northeast Asians and Jomon have Hoabinhian-like ancestry.

Just to make a quick correction sample A76LA8Q7PEHX should be assigned to N9b not N9b4 after checking both samples with HaploGrep 2.0
