That makes 3 of us. He's still listed as new, and not showing as an STR match yet. I've messaged him, but so far no reply.I'm wondering whether there'll be a Cornish connection.

Looks like it's going to be a dead end.

Reply to message I sent asking for details re their ancestry -
Hi, I am brand new to this and don’t understand exactly how to use this. So I don’t know how to figure out the answer to your question. Once I figure it out I’ll let you know.
Thanks

It's a brush off . You don't have to be an expert at Yfull to know details re your ancestry. So disappointed.

Now we can see the new sub-branch E-BY178965:
https://yfull.com/live/tree/E-Y45878/

YF65109 and YF04326 samples deems to be the same guy, the basal branch.

Those are both mine. YF65109 is the one that uses BigY data.

Your case is interesting.
Why don't you fill "region/ancestral language" sections of your profile?
Did you contact your Y-STR or BigY matches?
Did you research your documental paternal genealogy?

I've just filled in YF 65109 as best I can. I have contacted both my Big Y matches. Their earliest known male ancestor comes from Cornwall. One of them is a close STR match at Yfull- 455 14 0.031 YF15461.

The Gattys were first found in Cornwall in the UK, supposedly originally having been Gattis from Insubria in Italy. I can only trace my branch back to a 4gt William Gatty married in Liverpool in 1810.

This is a matrix of those with known Gatty(+ variant sp) ancestry.

Fill "Merseyside county" field in your profile. Also ask your Cornish matches to do the same.
Your subclade spans the Western bank of Britain, Celtic Britons area

There's now 4 E-Y45878 including. me. I'm a close str match to one. The other two are fairly new & very new. They are not str matches so far. I've contacted both the fairly new and very new ones. The fairly new one was brand new to it, and didn't understand exactly how to use it. I've just sent a message to the very new one.

The match has ZD born Maryland 1750 died NC 1829 , but it seems 'D' isn't his father

At Ancestry DNA I have a 9cM match to someone who has ZD as an ancestor.

Y DNA at FTDNA has someone with ZD>AD, children in Louisiana 67-7 step difference, E-L17

I'm somewhat perplexed by all this, and would welcome some feedback.
