Hello!

I recently received my mtDNA result from Living DNA - N1b1a1.
I am just starting to read more about it but so far I understand that it is not very common in Bulgaria and the surrounding areas.
Does anyone have some information about the distribution and history of this haplogroup and the possible connections with the modern territories of Bulgaria.

Thank you!

Haplogroup N1b originated in the Middle East and entered Europe during the Neolithic and with later migrations we have two samples from the Bulgarian DNA project at FTDNA: https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/bulgariandna/dna-results You can also join the Bulgarian forum on genetics if you want: http://dnagenealogy-bg.org/mybb/index.php Here is the Yfull N1b tree: https://yfull.com/mtree/N1b/

Hi, thank you for the information!

I wanted to send you pm but I am not yet allowed to do so. Tried to register in the Bulgarian forum but there seems to be an issue with the recaptcha algorithm.
