Lemba (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemba_people) is the mysterious South African people.

Lemba origins revisited: Tracing the ancestry of Y chromosomes in South African and Zimbabwean Lemba (http://www.samj.org.za/index.php/samj/article/view/7297/5714) includes 10 6-marker E-M35 haplotypes E-M35.
Nevgen prediction results:

H34: E-M34 Europe&Near East
H35: E-PH2818 Europe&Near East
H36: E-PF4428 Europe&Near East
H37: E-Y6169 - entirely Arabian branch
H38: E-Y154545 - just have fun :)
H39: E-L540 - just have fun again :)
H40: E-Y6923 - Jewish clade!
H41: E-PF2025 - Europe&Jews
H42: E-E-BY8198 - entirely Arabian branch
H43: E-Y4972 - Europe&Near East

Lemba legend about their ancestors from Judea, who migrated 2.5 kya to Yemen and then Africa, seems to be confirmed by H37, H40, H42 haplotypes

I think their ancestors were Arabian Muslim merchants who’s descendants forgot Sunni Islam but retained certain Islamic practices such as circumcision which we have in common with the Jews.

6 markers, though. As much as I'd love to have an E-Y6923 connection here, it's gonna take a lot more proof.

Recently a friend sent me a Lemba gentleman's 23andme results, he belonged to a L haplogroup I believe. I don't believe there is any Jewish connection. Perhaps someone else knows more.

Did the Lemba individual get any non SSA ancestry?

I just checked and he only had trace ancestry <1% "Southern Indian" strangely enough. But at trace levels I assume it can be ambiguous. Paternal haplogroup L-M349. I'd post the results but I don't know if that's okay with the ToS or privacy of the individual. I can PM though if anyone wants.

Lemba haplotypes of L haplogroup also are in the article posted in the first message.

Some Levantine(Lebanese) and Jews have this haplogroup
