I am mixed of North Caucasian and Bedouin. My mom is a Bedouin from the Shammar tribe

Paternal Haplogroup:T

T is a subgroup of F, which is described below.

Locations of haplogroup T circa 500 years ago, before the era of intercontinental travel.

http://i56.tinypic.com/8xqwt2.jpg

Haplogroup T is most common in the Near East, however it can be found in northern Africa, Europe and even across Asia at very low frequencies. T is best known for being the haplogroup of the third U.S. president, Thomas Jefferson.

Common among these people:T, a subgroup of F

Age: 21,000 years

Region: Europe, Near East, Northern Africa

Populations: Iraqis, Ethiopians, Egyptians

Highlight: T can be found across much of the Near East and Europe, although typically at low frequencies.

My maternal line:Maternal Haplogroup:J1b
J1b is a subgroup of J1, which is described below.

http://i53.tinypic.com/2558gu0.png

Locations of haplogroup J1 circa 500 years ago, before the era of intercontinental travel.Haplogroup J originated about 45,000 years ago on the Arabian Peninsula not long after modern humans expanded out of Africa and onto the Eurasian continent. About 7,000 years ago the expansion of farming carried daughter lineages of J, including J1, into Europe. Today the haplogroup extends as far west as Britain and as far east as Central Asia.

common among those groups:

Haplogroup: J1, a subgroup of J

Age: more than 38,000 years

Region: Europe, Near East

Populations: British, Scandinavians

Highlight: J1 spread from the Middle East all the way to Iceland.

My global similarity:

Southern Europeans:67.38
Near Easterners 67.24
North Europeans:67.21
Central Asians:66.88
North Africans:66.46

My McDonald results:The program says you most likely fit 50-50 Palestinian-Iranian, though
a variable mix of Druze, Berber, and Moroccan with a bit (15%) of
Sindhi thrown in fit equally well. Its probably best to look at the
spot on the map, which is an average of these: its in Jordan.

You sit in the middle of a genetic "empty space" on his plot, implying you are a mix of the reference samples.

McDonald's program usually interprets your position relative to the closest samples. As Palestine and Iran are closer together than the Bedouin and Adyghei, the program automatically reported you as the former.

The Palestine-Iran description is a "red herring"; you fit just as well as a Bedouin-Adyghei intermediate genetically speaking. As you already know your ancestry, this serves as confirmation you are half Arabian (Shammari) and half North Caucasian.

McDonald may not have been as intimately familiar with your background, which is probably why this inference wasn't raised by him.

So nothing changed.

As well my McDonald results updated it's not much different from the other one. Ironically very close to the oracle of Dienekes admix Dodcode project.

Most likely fit is 48.7% (+- 0.0%) Mideast (all Druze/Palestinian)

and 51.3% (+- 0.0%) Mideast (all Iran)

which is 100% total Mideast

In Eurogenes split I got Corum and Rab Al-Khali

GedMatch I cluster evenly between North Caucasians and Yemenites

Update from McDonald

Most likely fit is 53.1% (+- 6.1%) Mideast (all Druze/Palestinian)

and 46.9% (+- 6.1%) Mideast (various subcontinents)

which is 100% total Mideast

Interestingly I cluster with Assyrians, I think it's due my admix, and that they are ancient stabilized mix of Bedouin like people and Kavkazians in ancient times.

Hi Alanson. Thank you for sharing your results. How about testing (at least) 12 STRs with FTDNA? I am still curious about your Y-DNA T. As you know, it is a significant (in frequency and diversity) haplogroup among Mesopotamian groups (i.e. Assyrians, Iraqi Jews, Iranian Jews, and Kurdish Jews), as well as people from SW Iran (i.e. Bakhtiari*). It is also, supposedly, the haplogroup of at least a couple of the royal families of the Persian Gulf states (Bahrain and Kuwait ?).
