Is there any spreadsheet that we can look at population averages? It's been calculating very fast so must be very few SNPs?.. Kurdish results are same as me around 41-43% East-Africa2, I've just checked a few Armenian sample they're hovering around 37-43% East-Africa2, Turks are similar. Most samples score some minor Khoi-San, Omotic, Hadza.

I'm not sure, here is the blogpost relevant to the calculator.

http://ethiohelix.blogspot.com/2012/06/intra-african-genome-wide-analysis-v2.html

It's interesting how Middle Eastern populations seem to be scoring a higher percentage in the East-Africa2 cluster in comparison to Europeans. It's running on about 26,000 SNPs.

Running Dodecad African 9 i get:

But this isnt meant to be run by Europeans so the results cant be taken seriously, i guess the same is likely the case for the Ethio run..

I saw everyone in my family got low levels of Omotic, with my gran topping the list at 1%, but it really should include non-African clusters such as Asia and Europe to not over-fit the results..as otherwise you will get 100% African even if you have non-African ancestry..

I do not think that that is true only for Europeans. Look at the results of the Assyrian and Kurd. Basically, they are the same. And the Pashtun is not very far off either.

Mehrdad,
I'm sorry I just double checked, it's not there now. John must have taken it off. I know there was a thread about it over at 23andme, but I really didn't read it all the way through. I'll try to find it for you.

Here it is. Though I don't think it explains where it went. https://www.23andme.com/you/community/thread/30154/

When EthioHelix went up many peoples kits were no longer recognized by the admix calculators, including mine. I made a thread at Gedmatch and was informed the Administrator was aware of the issue and was resolving it. I can use calculators again and notice EthioHelix is gone, I believe it will be up again soon and that they're just fixing it.

Regarding hadza... i've looked at quite a few iranic genomes. Apparently there is this noise connection between the hadza and south-central/south-asian admixture affinities. It seems to come out at noise levels in Iranians(Even i and a south-iranian scored some). While Omotic seems amongst west-eurasians to peak in semitic-speaking south middle-easterners(gulf arabs) and decline outside of the levant-iran-mesopotamia. My guess is that omotics probably have something to do with the afro-asiatic/neolithic connection, or geneflow from that area. There is something that is making omotics contribute to west-Eurasians. Perhaps omotic speakers have received west-eurasian ancestry.

Edit: Omotics are a stand in for east-african.

Similarly, this would be the corresponding plot for the K10 + French test:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QB5468uL3m4/UAhFXz22mCI/AAAAAAAAAhM/w3VWUvT55K0/s1600/French_FST.png

There is definitely some Eurasian ancestry in Omotic based on the above plot, geography, uniparental markers (Eurasian Ydna and mtdna) and linguistics (although there is no consensus as whether it is an Afroasiatic branch or not).
But it is still very likely that part of the Omotic results in West Eurasians is actual [post-original OOA] African ancestry.

My new ftDNA admixture has 3% African. After running the EthioHelix K10 for all populations, I found one that was constant, Biaka-Pygmy which gave me almost the same results each time.

What kind of ancestry do you have?

What kind of ancestry do you have?

That's a good question, I've included the "my origins" screenshot. My dad's paternal line is Pashtun, but after moving to Fiji almost a century ago my great grandfather and his son's married women who weren't of Pashtun decent, but from Northern India. My mother's father is Tonga, and her mom is Fijian.

1920

Now the trick is to get my dad to agree to a DNA, which he hasn't. My mother passed away but I've been trying for some while to get one of her brothers to do a DNA test too. Hopefully I can get some results by December.

I was playing with puntDNA (on GEDmatch) & switched over to EthioHelix, which I hadn't looked at in a year or two. The spreadsheet & Oracles do not work.
These are the error codes:

The EthioHelix Africa K10 + French project is very helpful and informative, although it does not appear to be working properly.

This seems to indicate a very strong French (75.73%) background for me. Does anyone else have similar results?
