Has anyone heard about any sales at FTDNA in the near future?

I'm trying to decide which test to get if there is one...which one would give me more information for my hard-earned dollars? A full mito (K1a with origins possibly in the Bavarian Alps or possibly the South Tyrol) or...a 37-marker Y-DNA on my R1b-U152 (earliest known ancestor born 1816 in Thuringia)?

I tried to call the company but sat on hold for half an hour and finally just gave up.

Speaking of Thuringia, I have a couple (Dad's mother's side) who came from there in the 1800s. Male surname was Fensterer(Fenster); female name Oppermann. Actually, wife Oppermann died before the family emigrated to the States.

They always have a Y-DNA sale the weekend of Father's Day, June 14th and 15th, sometimes an extended weekend, starting on Friday the 13th, possibly ending on Monday the 16th. For new and existing customers, the 37, 67, and 111 tests, and upgrades for those already tested (for example 12 to 37, 12 to 67, 37 to 67, 67 to 111, etc).

If it were me, I'd do a Y-DNA 37 or preferably a 67 marker test before doing a Full mtDNA Sequence. More genealogically useful in my opinion, and several projects available to join.

Thanks...I'll hold off ordering until then. How would I benefit by getting a 67 marker test over a 37?
