J1* ? That's pretty rare, IIRC.

Haplogroup J1*-M267 is not unheard of among Assyrians (http://www.familytreedna.com/public/AssyrianHeritageDNAProject/) and it even has its' own Y-DNA Project (http://www.familytreedna.com/public/J1_asterisk_Y-DNA/default.aspx?section=yresults).

It has a presence around Anatolia (upper Mesopotamia, Armenian highlands), the Caucasus (Daghestan) and seems to have a patchy distribution in Europe. This is the current ISOGG haplotree for J1-M267:

J 12f2.1, L134, M304/Page16, P209, S6/L60, S34, S35
• J* -
• ; J1 L255, L321, M267
• • J1* -
• • J1a M62
• • J1b M365.1
• • J1c L136
• • • J1c* -
• • • J1c1 M390
• • • J1c2 P56
• • • J1c3 P58/Page8
• • • • J1c3* -
• • • • J1c3a M367.1, M368.1
• • • • J1c3b M369
• • • • J1c3c L92, L93
• • • • J1c3d L147.1
• • • • • J1c3d* -
• • • • • J1c3d1 L174.1
• • • • • J1c3d2 L222.2
• • • • • • J1c3d2* -
• • • • • • J1c3d2a L65.2/S159.2

It is also interesting to note that members of the Qajar royal family, a traditionally Turkish dynasty that ruled Persia for hundreds of years until the 20th century, also belong to J1*-M267. I had discussed the peculiarity of this result with one descendant on DNA-Forums some time ago.
Although the presence of non-Central Asian Turkish (i.e. "native") lines is to be expected in dynasties which are historically known to be ethnic mixes initially or further down the line, it is somewhat surprising to see the dominant subclade of those belonging to the Qajars is J1*-M267.

I don't know much about it but I have a J1* cousin who is Mizrahi Jewish from Aleppo, Syria, which is of course in the area of Assyria, so it seems to fit in this region. Your placement on the 23andme map is also nearly identical to that of my Ashkenazi grandfather.
