Maybe that would be better to use database of Semargl, he has much more listed haplotypes than Ysearch. I think that those Russian haplotypes may be Z280 whereas Scythian was rather Z93. But I asked lgmayka for assistance.

People say R1a is 17,000 years old it is not that simple. R1a split from R1b about 20,000-22,000 years ago, so you could say that R1a is 20,000 years old . However All R1a that has been discovered shares an ancestor within the last 7,000 years so in another sense of the word R1a is only 7,000 years old, small divergent clades have been found in Iran a d Turkey and Europe Z93+ZZ83 which takes up 99+ percent of living R1a split only probably 6,000-,6,500 years ago. Ever since analylizing Mal'ta I have discovered most haplogroups have two ages. I share a common male ancestor with someone with R1a-z280 within probably 3,000-4,000 years however if it takes me 6,500 years to go back to someone with R1a-z93 it takes me according to my math 5,925 to go back to someone with R1a-458 so I am almost as different from someone with R1a M-458 as I am from someone with R1a-z93 .

I put the brief paper in question through Google translate. It gives almost no information about the sample, simply referring to ancient people inhabitaing the lower reaches of the River Don at least 3000 years ago, which would be 1000 BC+. It seems to be more of an experiment to see if Y-DNA could be extracted than a full study.

R1a1a is exactly what I would expect for that place and time, but I think I had better wait for a more detailed study testing SNPs before I put anything into my online table.

I think you meant Z283 and not Z83 in that other post, however your point highlighted above is well taken. Even the divergent lines found in Iran and Turkey will be found to share a recent ancestor, likely younger than M417 and even perhaps Z645.

If you take the DYS385=11 literally to mean DYS385=11-11, then I see only one exact match: kit 228517 in the Scandinavian Project (https://www.familytreedna.com/public/scandinavianydna/default.aspx?section=yresults), of Swedish ancestry.

But if you assume merely DYS385a=11 (i.e., the DYS385b was not successfully measured), then there are many matches from multiple branches of R1a1a. You can see them by querying semargl (http://www.semargl.me/en/dna/ydna/query/) with the 9 marker values.
