Lately I've been scanning some old color slides, digitally photographing heirlooms, and doing a few other such activities -- last summer for a (rare) family reunion, and this summer for our 50th anniversary next month. Imagine my surprise to discover, today, that there's a website with instructions devoted to these tasks, tailored specifically for genealogists: http://www.rideau-info.com/photos/genealogy-home.html

I thought it might be particularly helpful for people who are posting images of family paintings: http://www.anthrogenica.com/showthread.php?2975-Family-paintings

Y-DNA ancestors in this one: http://www.anthrogenica.com/showthread.php?664-Male-Ancestor-Photos-and-Y-DNA

and mtDNA ancestors here: http://www.anthrogenica.com/showthread.php?666-Female-Ancestor-Photos-and-mtDNA
