Considering India has been continuously inhabited for thousands of years, are there ancient graves of famous Indian rulers or personalities? The thread on Alexander got me interested. We're often discussing who was in India and what they were like, what if they had the grave of Porus, the Indian ruler that Alexander fought against or people from even more ancient times? Would the DNA be salvageable?

Cremation was the norm, but cremation burials (urn) and hair locks may preserve some DNA. We may still find some DNA in the IVC burials. Due to the weather endogenous DNA material would be very limited, if any.
