Hi all,

I recently tested R1b-CTS7096 at Geno 2.0. Since I am an ignorant in genetics, I'd like to get advice on where to obtain information on the geographic spread of people sharing this same result. I have found heatmaps for R1b-u152 but not for my specific subgroup.

many thanks!

What are the SNP markers between U152 and CTS7096? I can't find any mention of CTS7096 at ISOGG, YFull, Chris Morley's PDF or FTDNA haplotree.

Joan, that's great to hear. Please send your Geno 2.0 results to the FamilyTreeDNA U152 Project.

CTS7096 has been found in 1000 Genomes Project sample NA12829 from Utah, USA. To answer Armando's question, NA12829 has the following subclade sequence:

U152 > L2 > Z49, Z68 > Z142 > L562, Z51, Z55 > Z57 > Z147, Z148, CTS6554, 28486173(T/G) > Z52, Z53, Z65, Z149 > CTS7096

I do not have CTS7096 on my U152 tree (see here: http://www.r1b.org/imgs/FTDNA_U152_Project_Tree.png) because up until now, it has been a singleton. If Joan joins the U152 Project, I can add it.

Yes, I hope Joan transfers his data to FTDNA and joins the U152 project and gets a Y-DNA67 test.

Hi,

I think I've correctly joined the R1bU152 project. Please, let me know if there is something I have not done correctly.

thanks!

Yes, thank you, I see your results on the SNP page. Can you also add the town/place or origin of Joan Fortuny Sardà next to his name as well?

Also, please consider ordering the STR markers so you can be grouped in this results page: https://www.familytreedna.com/public/R1b-U152/default.aspx?section=ycolorized

Town added next to my oldest known paternal ancestor.

Hi again,

regarding further testing for the paternal ancestors, what would you all recommend, Y-DNA67 as Armando proposed? I assume that whatever results I get, I'd be the only one since up to the level I've been tested so far (R1b-CTS7096), I understand that I'm already alone... What benefit would it be to get this additional level of detail -or did I misunderstand something along the way?

many thanks, all this is fascinating!
