I did a double take on the name because in my world, 'Francis Collins' was my GGGpa Whalen patriarchs brother in law and good buddy in carving out several 100 acre farms in the middle of the Western Ontario's heavily forested Bruce peninsula in the 1850's

Francis was a huge guy, over 6'4, but mostly deaf...there was a family story that one night, his wife was in the barn finishing a chore, he did not realize she was in there and he locked the barn doors shut
-she could not get out, and no matter how loud she yelled and screamed, he of course, could not hear her
...several hours later, she finally broke a couple of the plank walls and was able to 'escape'-there is no tale of what happened next when she confronted him, but I'll bet the next few days were rough on him!
