They had 31 updates last year. It based on publically available results and individuals that submit their BigY or FGC results.

So if you don't see your subclade and haven't sent them your results for analysis...

wow

Haplogroups O and Q got a lot of attention

FYI,

Yfull analysis found a new terminal SNP for my branch, R-Y9080 position 7897468.

This SNP is a great example of why I encourage BigY and FGC full genome test participants to submit their results to both FGC and Yfull for analysis, as one company may find a valid SNP the other misses; or as in this case, doesn't give it as high of a priority as the other company.

As I've mentioned before:
FGC analysis of my BigY results identified 23 novel SNPs rated at 95% and 90% of which are "actually genuine". Another 346 were identified as 40% "actually genuine".

Yfull analysis identified 22 novel SNPs as high quality or acceptable.

Together Yfull and FGC identified 28 private/novel SNPs with their highest 2 ratings, as the 23 identified by FGC aren't exactly the same as 22 identified by Yfull.

R-Y9080, position 7897468 was identified with high confidence by Yfull but not by FGC. On this particular case FGC gave it a ** rating. FGC indicates only 40% of ** are "actually genuine". Because Yfull gave this particular SNP an "acceptable" rating, it stood out among the 346 ** rated SNPs and ended up in my combined FGC/YFull list of 28 private SNPs

It is strange why "4C" readings are not sufficient for FGC. In my case FGC rewarded by "**" Y4356 SNP, that is directly below S8183 and had "67T 1C" readings and assigned no FGC SNP.

I have received the following feedback from FGC in October:
It looks like there may be some ambiguity in where this SNP comes from as there are several chrY regions with similar sequence. But if the results are phylogenetically consistent, then this is more likely than not an accurate placement for this SNP. If you like, we could assign an FGC name, but it sounds like it may already have a name. In any case, we will consider this and similar cases as we refine the variant reliability classifications. Thanks for the feedback.

Haplogroups O and Q got a lot of attention

Yeah, I'll say! Haplogroup Q looks awesome, too bad FTDNA will probably take another two decades to catch up. :P

Looking at Q-YP1003 branch very interesting how Q-YP1010 now has branch Q-YP1009 with two samples. http://www.yfull.com/tree/Q-YP1003/

I would love to know if these are in fact my brother's two closest STR matches (that had taken Big Y). I was a little bummed out yesterday that his Q-YP1010 came back negative. So that leaves me to wonder will my brother even be positive for Q-YP1003?

If he's not, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to these STRs vs SNPs. I've noticed everyone who is grouped under Q-YP1003 has a 24 at DYS447. My brother is a 24 there. That was the very first thing that I noticed made his markers different from most of the others.

I don't suppose you guys could "strongly encourage" people to identify their regions? I feel like a lot of users are just leaving that information out because they haven't bothered to go into 'Settings'.

Yfull crosses 10000 sample mark and is adding ancient dna to next version

Vadim Urasin: We have registered ID YF10000 yesterday. A milestone. Thank you all for orders. By the way, in this batch we have added about a hundred samples from scientific papers of this year (later I will write references to papers). They have a lot of new SNPs. This is a main reason of delay with results
