According to Colleen Fitzpatrick, Abraham Lincoln's mother could have been X1c.

It's amazing that I am a day or so behind that thought. I was about to post the exact same paper.

Back when I thought King John was in my direct maternal line, via an illegitimate daughter, I found an early connection to Abraham Lincoln's maternal line (I think it was his maternal line) back in medieval England (eastern England), within a few generations of the Norman conquest (Lincoln may really be Norman). But now that I've recognized my erroneous connection (I'm apparently not descended from Keziah Hunt, born about 1719), I've flushed that King John stuff from my mind.

My mtdna haplogroup is also x1c. Earliest known matrilineal ancestor was from Norway. I don't have any other information and there is a dearth of info on x1c on the internet. This Lincoln study is pretty much it. Very frustrating

This haplogroup is extremely rare x1c is only really found in Norway and Ireland as far as I know and although no one can know for sure Iím guessing Nancy Hanks maternal line came from Ireland originally .
