Hi all!

Just a quick question for anyone who can help. I score 2% Scandinavian on 23andMe and I have Danish/Swedish appear quite a bit on the Gedmatch calculators. I know that could simply represent British ancestry. All my Scandinavian appears on chromosome 1 on 23andMe.

I decided to look at Countries of Ancestry and see which Scandinavian matches appear on which chromosome. At 4 grandparents from the same country on 5cM I have two Danish 7.4cM matches on chromosome 1. The only other Scandinavian match I have on chromosome 1 is a 5.6cM Norwegian match. My highest Scandinavian match is a Danish match of 8.7cM on chromosome 5.

I should note my ancestry is mostly British, Southern European and Eastern European. Is it possible to suggest I have some distant Danish ancestry based on those matches on that chromosome?

Out of interested my paternal haplogroup is R1b1b2a1a (R-U106) and my maternal haplogroup is V.

Any thoughts would be great :)
