What data sets does FTDNA use to produce their "MyOrigins" results? I had a FamilyFinder test done on my own kit and then on the kit from a male cousin. Most of the results followed (at least roughly) the known ancestry, but the results for "British" were surprising. Both of us have known English/Welsh ancestry through the great grandfather as well as others (his father and mine were brothers) yet in mine the result for British was only 3% and in his it entirely disappears.
I realize that autosomal inheritance is different from the YDNA and even more so from mtDNA, but with British ancestors on both sides of my tree and a good portion of his I would have thought that there would be more "British".
