View Full Version : Admin Communication Streamlining ("Administrator")

Dear members,

To assure our regulars a direct and (essentially 24 hour) line of communication with the administrators regarding forum matters, we now request members wishing to contact us to PM this account ("Administrator").

This change in policy is outlined in a new Terms of Service (http://www.anthrogenica.com/faq.php) (ToS) section:

1.4 ... the "Administrator" account serves as a 24 hour permanently active line of communication between all forum administrators and the community. Members with any maintenance related questions not within the remit of moderators are to contact "Administrator" and not personal administrator accounts.

This change solves the problem of delayed responses from any of the several administrators who currently oversee Anthrogenica's technical maintenance. These infrequent delays were caused by unpredictable real-life commitments diverting administrator time from the forum. Through "Administrator", members are near-guaranteed a more timely response from any given available administrator.

In the event a member ignores these new terms and contacts an administrator's personal account along these lines and not "Administrator", the administration cannot guarantee a timely response.

In addition, members should not clutter administrator inboxes by CC'ing both "Administrator" and personal administrator account(s). Instances of this may be considered a violation of our terms regarding spam (section 3.9).

As a reminder, please note the following items in the ToS:

1.3 Forum administrators and moderators have access to anonymous accounts ("Administrator" and "Moderator" respectively). These accounts are used at the discretion of staff to undertake forum maintenance. Administrators have access to both accounts, whereas moderators can only utilize "Moderator".

1.6 If issues with inconsistency or failure to maintain any of these ToS by the moderation team arise, members are expected to directly contact the "Administrator" account only via private message.

Please also note that the role of moderators has remained unchanged and should be the first to be contacted for routine maintenance.

The ToS has been fully updated to reflect this policy change. Thanks for your cooperation.

Hi all,

Minor note here - To avoid confusion regarding the functionality of the generic staff accounts, ModBot and AdminBot are now Moderator and Administrator respectively.

None of us, as far as I know, are related to C-3PO after all. :) Have yourselves a good day!
