They were human beings like we are. Job had so much stress and lost a lot like some people in this life can do. l I think apostles freely wanted to follow Jesus. Because He was a teacher and the apostles felt safe with Him. Jesus did not sin and He was in a good mental balance it can be read in the Bible.

Abraham, Moses and so on had different kind of characters and how they reacted towards the difficulties. I just wonder who were psychotic there. Perhaps that man who was full of bad spirits which Jesus drove to the pigs? Jesus just wanted to help people and it shows a lot of his character and His strength in terms of his mental state of mind.

Along similar lines -- did Ezekiel have schizophrenia?

Spiritual things are spiritual not merely psychological. The Holy spirit is pure and do never give you a mental disease or hallucinations. People try to explain these things with their sense it does not work well. God was mighty in old Testament time and still He is. Chapter 36 is it a hallucination? What about blessings?

Well yes, it is reductionist to explain all spiritual impulse as psychotic. But I am sure we have all known people who take it too far in the other direction, too.

Yes AJL that is right and when you are mental sick there are those how to say illusions being Jesus or someone else biblical person. But it belongs to the sickness it is not doing with real faith.

In a real faith and working faith there is a freedom and mercy wrapped in love, care and understanding. It is not only laws and strict regulations which you can hardly ever 100 % obey. Those you need for knowing wrong and right.
