It has also revamped its website to make the genetic information easier to understand and is raising the price of its service to $199, from $99.

It would be nice if they offered two versions of the kit, one being an ancestry only kit for $99.

$199 for autosomal?

I won't argue with people that believe in 23andMe's origin results, but its kits are not the best for comparisons on GEDmatch.

The trouble is you need a 23andMe (v4) kit besides what you already have to get the best comparison with someone that has a V4 kit.

So the price will increase, but the number of tested SNPs probably not. Meaning it's get's even worse of a deal then when they switched to v4.

This website still states $99 for ancestry https://www.23andme.com/en-int/

I am not going to upgrade, if one is required. Nonsense.

Better to get FullGenomes WGS 4x for only $350.00, it covers everything.

I agree. Especially when we want to test a lot of relatives from both sides of the family and also get a split view.

Thanks for the info.

So I take it that Canada and the EU have given their approval to the health reports?

This is annoying. I was just about to buy some kits for family members to know their haplogroups. I guess I'm sticking to AncestryDNA from now on and finding a cheap haplogroup-only test. Does anyone know one that is cheap and shows both?
