My haplogroup as determined by both Geno 2.0 and TribeCode is J2a1h L24/S286, and it seems fairly rare to me. So far I've mainly seen it in Sicilians, and apparently it has been associated with ancient Greek and Anatolian groups.

On Geno 2.0, they listed L24 as peaking in Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Macedonia, and Malta, with small occurrences in Jordan, Armenia, Lebanon, Iran, and Kuwait.

I am waiting for my results for an SNP pack I bought on FTDNA, as well as FullGenomes WGS 4x. should I contact the admins in the projects that I'm in for further research purposes?

Based on its distribution, it is probably spread by Phoenicians and not by Greeks. If it is in Sicily at a higher rate than Greece, it is probably not Greek.

This would explain its presence in Tunisia...

Why would you waste the money on SNPs Pack when you already have WGS 4x results coming?

I bought those earlier this year before I even found out about WGS 4x

Rarity is relative. J-L24, and more specifically its main subclade J-L25, has a significant presence in the Polish Project--mostly Jews but also some non-Jews (kits 35476, 177986, and 137649).

The L24 Peak in Tunisia is not representative from a statistic point of view
Because there were 12 samples from the same area in Tunisia (Msaken) who tested and were found to be descendant from a common ancestor of not more than 800 years
they all belong to J2-L24,L25,F3133,Z700,L192,L271

Wanting to learn more about this branch since I am J-Z387 with a likelihood of being J-FCG35503. I will check out the Polish Project as well.

I also have the J2a1h Haplogroup.

I've traced my Paternal lineage pretty far back. My ancestors on my Father's side were French Huguenot's. They fled France to the Isle of Jersey and came to America in the 1660's. Our Ancestors were Normans which is why I was surprised when I got this haplogroup. I thought my haplogroup would of been I2.

Hi everybody,
new J2a1h here.
Thanx god Im not jewish :-) Tracable ancestors in my homeland to 17th century.
Research of greek skeletons shows root j2a1h as pre-phoenicians. Pre-sea people invasion. Maybe Minoan. Sounds good
