$99

I ordered it for one of my R1a kits. Will see how it goes and then get it for the other, if there's enough sample left.

In some cases it may be wiser to go for the Geno 2.0 next generation especially when on sale, but one first have to make sure that most of these SNPs are also covered under it.

Sorry, off topic.

My WGS results are in, sharing at least 11 SNPs with the Norwegian BIG Y kit, further analysis is under way to see if the relationship is even closer.

Awesome. Did you submit it to YFull too? Their J1 tree has a lot of samples. And make sure to set your country/origin when you do.

Not yet, will do it later for sure.

Is it worth if I order it ? I am Y7+

If you know that you are Y7+ (see YFull's haplotree (http://yfull.com/tree/R-Y7/)), here are the downstream (more precise) SNPs that the R1a-Z93 SNP Pack will test for you:
Y2568
Y31
Y2570 (instead of Y2569)
Y879
Y878
Y882
Y30
Y29
Y944
Y2413
Y2428
Y16494

Most but not all of these are on FTDNA's haplotree--FTDNA needs to see the evidence itself before placing a SNP.

FTDNA put him in R-Y944, subclade of R-Y30. Also has Y16494 and Y2428

On YFull that would be this: http://yfull.com/tree/R-Y16494/

Any idea why it doesn't label my uncle's kit (311047) as R-Y16494 but it does for kit M10084? What does Y16494-x mean?

The official FTDNA haplotree places Y944, Y2428 and Y16494 on the same level, thus failing to reflect the correct phylogenetic relationship (ie. Y944>Y2428>Y16494). Your uncle ordered the Z93 SNP pack and was tested positive for all three of them, so he was classified as R-Y944 (simply because Y944 was listed first on his Y-DNA tree), while kit M10084 was tested with Big Y and was classified as R-Y16494 (probably because his FTDNA tree shows Y16494 first). I know this doesn't make much sense, as the order of equivalent SNPs should be the same for all FTDNA customers, so I hope FTDNA will fix it soon, most likely by placing Y2428 and Y16494 on the downstream levels.

What does Y16494-x mean?
This means that we don't know whether he shares any BigY-tested SNPs downstream of Y16494 with the NGS-tested (BigY-tested or 1KG-tested) samples M10084/YF03897 and HG03649, so this is also why he is recommended to order Big Y.

YFull says TMRCA 3000ybp. Doesn't that imply that HG03649 and YF03897 had no shared SNPs after Y16494 either? Otherwise if all 20 SNPs at that level were shared, they'd have a TMRCA of... 0, no?

FTDNA will split that level as soon as an example is encountered that definitively tests
Y944+ Y16494-

Right now, I see no such customer examples in the R1a Project. YFull has no such customers (http://yfull.com/tree/R-Y944/) either, only anonymous research samples.

But I see no reason for the two kits to show different SNP ordering at that level.
M10084 has Y16494 Y2428 Y944
311047 has Y944 Y16494 Y2428

This inexplicable ordering difference causes the clade assignment difference.

Yes, I should have written M10084/YF03897 or HG03649, as your uncle may share some BigY-tested SNPs under Y16494 only with one of them.
